Gil Torrez served more than twenty years as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  After completion of the FBI Academy at Quantico, Virginia, Gil was assigned and served in the New Orleans and Dallas FBI Field Divisions, as well as the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Panama as diplomat in the capacity of Legal Attaché.  Gil has experience in a variety of investigations that include Drug matters, Organized Crime, White Collar Crime, Civil Rights, National Security, and Counter-Terrorism investigations.

After the September 11, 2001 bombing of the World Trade Center, in New York City, Gil was assigned to investigate Counter-Terrorism and National Security matters.  Before retiring, Gil was transferred to the Field Intelligence Group in the Dallas FBI Field Division.  Gil's other duties and assignmentswith the FBI included:  Relief Supervisor; Supervisory Special Agent; FBI Instructor; Crisis (Hostage) Negotiator; and Public Speaking.  Gil taught Crisis Negotiation and Crisis Management, to police officers, federal officers, and military personnel in the U.S. and throughout Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

Prior to the FBI, Gil served in the U.S. Air Force (USAF), assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing as a gunner and instructor on an AC-130 Gunships.  Gil served in Southeast Asia and saw combat during the Viet Nam war.  Sergeant Torrez was honorably discharged and then attended Southwest Texas State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree.
Post FBI, Gil was employed as the Supervisor of Investigations for the Dallas Field Office of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).  Gil and his staff were responsible for Intellectual Property Rights investigations with respect to music piracy in Texas and six other states.
Gil is fluent in Spanish; and studied the Thai language while stationed in Thailand in the USAF.  Gil is a certified SCUBA diver and constructs steel string guitars in his spare time.

Gil is a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI); and the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators (TAHN). 


Catherine Torrez is currently working as a Private Investigator for Taurus Investigations.  She has been a police officer for 19 years and served as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of Grand Prairie, then moved on to Everman, TX where she served as patrol officer, and worked in various areas such as D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), School Resource Officer, Gang Intelligence, Community Liaison, and Criminal Investigations. 

She moved on to White Settlement ISD Police Officer to work as a SRO again and became Captain of the police department and attended the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas to gain her management certificate.  She served as the Chief of Police in the City of Cockrell Hill (a small city in the Southwest side of Dallas, TX) for four years.  She has achieved her Police Instructor Certificate, Mental Health Officer Certificate and Master Peace Officer Certification.  She has extensive training in Emergency Response, Planning, Mitigation and Recovery to handle Natural Disasters, Terrorism and Civil Disorder events.  She also specialized in Crimes Against Children and Juvenile Crimes while working Criminal Investigations.       

Prior to her Law Enforcement career, she was a business owner of a highly competitive Janitorial, Minor Maintenance and Repair and Landscaping service in the DFW Metroplex for 10 years.
